Hi
Would welcome your assistance.:(
Need to fit an extended front ring to obtain required eye relief for a good sight picture. Bought a Ruger MEDIUM extended front ring only to find it is somewhat lower than other man. resulting in the 44mm AO of the scope binding on the top of the barrel.
Unable to find a MATCHED set of , preferably matte,HIGH rings which include an extended front ring. & which will fit on the Ruger M77 receiver. The Ruger system maybe solid but it greatly limits adjustment of a scope to obtain correct eye relief.
As you are aware the back ring on the M77 is slightly higher than the front.
Does any man. market such a set of rings or a base which can be secured to the Ruger receiver enabling standard dovetail rings to be used.
I like the scope but really do not wish to alter the rifle stock to fit.

Many Thanks for any assistance
regards
yamavira.

Ruger rings are numbered 1 thru 6-----being the rear of the receiver sits lower than the front you'll need the next taller ring than you have for the front----if your front ring is a 3, the rear will need to be a 4----and so on.

Single rings can be purchased from Midway and probably directly from Ruger.

Check Midway or Brownells....someone makes a weaver adapter that locks down on the Ruger integral base cuts. It adds about 3/8ths of an inch once you put a weaver/picatinney ring on.

Hmmm... Yeah, failed to notice that little bit. Now that you have the part number, can you find a local source for Leupold rings and have them ordered. Not sure if rings are on the forbidden international shipping list, but ebay might be another source.

Ruger M77

Hi
Unfortunately it now appears that anything remotely associated with a firearm, including scope rings, is considered to be "gun parts" by the US government & cannot be exported without a bundle of paperwork & even then only to an internationally registered dealer.
For instance in the case of Ruger everything must come through a company in the uk called Viking arms who are not at all interested in individual customer requirements, only in mega buck deals.
Have actually fitted a 1" tubed 4-16x44 Nighteater scope onto the rifle using the #4 extended ring /#5 ring I had & a new (now much thinner Ruger butt pad). The nighteater scope has saddle parallax adjustment so clears the top of the rifle barrel. If it shoots okay I will consider having the stock shortened to fit the Limbsaver recoil pad I have. There is always a way.

Cheers
yamavira.
