Endowment Pistol Range Report
Took the new Ruger to the range today, & I’m very happy with it. The pistol is accurate, reliable, & feels very good in the hand. It did have two malfunctions in 250 rounds. Both were failures to feed. On the first, the round was only about a quarter of the way into the chamber. The second malfunction was similar, but the round was almost completely in the chamber except for the last 1/8 of an inch or so. Otherwise it was perfect with no misfires, or failures to eject/extract. I took my wife along. This was only her second trip to the range, but she now wants a Ruger 22 of her own. Judging by her performance today, I’ll admit that with a little practice, I think she’ll easily out shoot me (but I’ll never admit it to her). I do think I like the plain 4in tapered barrel better than the 51/2 Bull Barrel that I had on my last Ruger Mark II. It seems to balance nicer. I assume the 2 malfunctions were a fluke as the gun was so perfect otherwise, but if anyone has opinions as to the cause of these stoppages I’d appreciate feedback. I would highly recommend the Mark II, & the endowment pistol is also kinda neat to look at.
