I've got a Ruger Mark II that I sent to Clark Custom Guns for a full workover, and it has developed a sticky trigger - it doesn't always happen, but when I pull the trigger sometimes I'll have to give it a little extra tug (while up against the trigger stop screw), or it'll take a hair longer than expected before the hammer drops.

I thought "oh, it's just dirty." Dismantled it entirely, gave it a thorough cleaning, put it back together, still doing the same thing.

Suggestions?

Back off the trigger stop screw a frog hair more?

Sounds like it's set too close, and slack in the trigger linkage sometimes isn't getting it all the way back.

or back off the pretravel screw. That can cause issues as well. At least it did when I installed set screws in my trigger.

Mind posting a photo or two of your gun?

A number of years ago, AMT put out a version of the Ruger auto called the Lightning. It had all the bells and whistles, but at a huge price difference. I picked one up, then Ruger succeeded in getting an injunction filed against AMT, and the gun vanished. A few friends and I got some of these before they went under and they shoot exceedingly well. I initially shot about 40-45 rounds through mine just to make sure it worked, then I put it up and haven't shot it since. My friends shot theirs, however, and they still work fine. AMT also sold some stainless mags that fit the Rugers, and I got a bunch of them, but have misplaced them somewhere. The two reasons I didn't continue to shoot my AMT is 1) I have a slight hand tremor and can't benefit from a target pistol; 2) I thought it might become a collector's pistol one day. Oh, and I could shoot my friends' guns if I had the urge to shoot one.

The gun had Millet sights, a Clark trigger, stainless screws and Pachmayr wrap-around grips. It also had a slightly longer barrel.
