Well, I owned a Mini-30 for 1.5-2 years. I loved the feel of this rifle, and had a ton of fun shooting it. I did scope it with an older Weaver fixed power scope, and after a little trigger adjusting(and I still don't know what my Dad did to it, but it worked!) and some reloads, we were able to get 1-1/5 inch groups out of the gun. I did trade the rifle because I could not get any high capacity mags to work in the thing. Therefore, I did go the AR route, and I am extremely satisfied with what I now own in it's place, a DPMS Sweet 16 stainless barreled AR-15. You can now get the Ruger 20-round mags in it, and that is a plus. If you want one, I say don't let the bad experiences of a few persuade you not to try an excellent rifle, but be prepared to do some work to make it work the way you want it to, whether that is trigger, glass, reloads, or whatever you will.
I also had the same issue(as mentioned above) with Wolf ammo in mine, but never with brass cased ammo.
