After seeing countless pictures of MK II's and III's with red dot scopes mounted, I've got a question: Am I the only one who mounted his red dot in a forward position? Seems like all the pics show the red dots mounted as far back as possible, but I find that the middle/forward position helps bring some weight out towards the front, which helps me hold steadier. I'd love some feedback, as this is my first Ruger and red dot combo.

If this is what you are comfortable with, and shoot accurately with, and the balance of the gun is such that your target acquisition is quick, then why worry about it?

I've seen them both ways. If you have a model that has already been tapped and threaded, then you would mount it on the rear.
The last thing I need on my slabside is more weight out front. :)
