The Ruger MkII with the 6 inch tapered barrel (KMK-6) has probably 20,000+ rounds through it and is more throwing patterns than shooting groups lately so I have decided to rebarrel it. The local smith has Shilen blanks and has quoted $150 to put a 6 inch bull barrel (I've regretted that tapered barrel from the start) on the receiver. The question now is what adjustable sight to replace the OEM fixed sight with. I am seeking a middling high to high end target sight. One with relatively fine positive click adjustment and, ideally, interchangeable blades for both front and rear. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Has anyone any experience with any of the various flavors of .22LR match chamber reamers in autoloaders? The smith says he has standard SAAMI sport, minimum dimension match, and access to two or three different named compromise reamers (tighter than the sport standard, not as finicky as the minimum.) Any recommendations?
