Anybody have a blue book of gun values? I need a fair asking price for a Ruger MKII. Model number is KMK678. Stainless, 6 7/8" barrel, adjustable sights, black synthetic grips with silver and red Ruger emblem. 95%+.

Thanks.

man, dont go making me upset at paying $375 for a used mk2 at a local gunshop! :fire:

nah i kids, i'm not upset. the average retail cost is around $320 (based on rugers price and what i looked at on gunbroker) and when i factor in shipping/transfer fee the price is about the same.

Yep, it's really hard to pin down the exact value of any firearm. It all depends on location, supply and demand, condition of the firearm, etc. Blue Book values are only guidelines, not hard-and-fast prices.

Spackler, if the wear is closer to 98% the BB value jumps to $270.

The bottom line, I guess, is that something is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it.

So I can only hope that somebody like spiff comes along.....

Just kidding.

There really isn't any wear on the thing at all. It belonged to my Dad. He had it to the range twice, and carried it in a nylon holster when walking in the woods.

yeah yeah yeah, one born every minute, i know! :D

but the mkII i bought wont be resold. i love shooting it! havent tried it at any real distance yet, only dinked around using the branches of bushes on the range at 15-30 feet. was fun watching the branches jump back and forth when i got a hit!

i did shoot it on the target at 7 yards the other day, wasnt trying for real accuracy, just trying to quell my tendancy to flinch. discovered i had a 1 1/2 inch group with the mk2 though!

I've gotone of the KMK678GCs, and it cost somewhere in the low $300s used here in Cali. I see them on sale new at around $400ish, that primarilty cause it's the full blown "government competition" model, hence the GC at the end of the KMK678GC. But if you're isn't the slabside but the one with the tapered barrel? Well hey, it's still selling in the $300 range for a new one.
If i happened to come across one of these at $200 I'd buy it.. lol... hell, used blued 22/45s are in the low $200s out here...

Dan

p.s. but hey, if you wanna let it go for $200, drop me a line ;)

p.p.s. just in case you guys think i'm smoking crack... current prices on the kmk678gc on

The Mark II was bought froma gun store used in very good condition for $200.00

I traded it back to them on a new 22/45. They allowed $150 on the trade and it cost me $125 additional. The old Mark II is in the case for $175 now.

FYI

P.S. I never did really like the Mark II (grip angle) I love the 22/45
