Ruger Old Army Cylinder Gap 0.014/15"???

Greetings!

I finally got around to measuring the cylinder gap in my Old Army purchased in the thread...

Though the gun has been fired very little, the gap is averages between 0.014 and 0.015", which seems way too big for a normal Old Army.

Would Ruger still fix this gun under "warranty" service?

Failing that, Clements can tighten that up.

While that may be a bit more than normal, is it causing you problems? Is it side-spitting or blowing groups wide open? I would have to be experiencing a real severe problem before shipping a gun these days.

Think of it as an opportunity. At the same time, Clements could cut the forcing cone to 11 degrees, true up the barrel face and deepen the chambers.

Anything worth doing is worth doing to excess....
