i own a ruger p345, i love this guns handling and comfortability. i hav to contact ruger tomorrow . i found a problem the pistol i have owned it five months and put about 80 rnds. threw it, i discoverd tonite while doing a thorough cleaning that one of the riflings is sticking up bout 1/16 of in inch about 3/4 of an inch from the breech and the front sight is set all the way to right of center of barrell. lets see how well they take care of it . will let ya'll know. cause if this is going to be problems with a pistol for almost 500 dollars i will sell it and by a glock. not to mention there blue finish is weak. they need a different tougher finish. i am a cpl holder and caryy this firearm on a daily basis. cant hav a firearm that doesnt perform as well as it should. my life and my families life may depend on it....or an unarmed civilians life !!!!:::cuss:

Been shooting lead bullets? Rifling is a groove, not a rail in the barrel, and your probably seeing lead or copper fouling in the groove. If indeed your barrel is bad, Ruger will no doubt replace it at no cost to you. Carry guns will get holster wear, just gonna have to live with that fact...You should have seen my Kimber after doing some holster drills:cool:

If the gun shoots straight, dont sweat the front sight. My P345 I believe was the same way (look at the dovetail cut on the slide compared to the muzzle, mine was off center but the sight was over bore), and the camblock was warped, but the thing sure shot good though.

If there is an issue Riger will take care of you, I know from experience.

I had a P345 and though I had a lot of reliability issues, it was and is still the most accurate handgun that I Have ever owned.

Give it a hard scubbing with gun solvent and a tight fitting brass brush before calling Ruger. As stated prviously, it sounds like a streak of lead fouling in your barrel.

If you have been shooting swaged lead bullets, it may be lead fouling. Before anything else, give the bore a good scrubbing and clean the gun thoroughly. Use a lead remover/solvent in the bore.

Did you buy it used? If so, the previous owner may have messed with the sight alignment. Most gun manufacturers align the front and back sights to the center of the barrel/slide but that's not always the case. I have a SIG that had the rear sight offset to the left and, yes, it shot way to the left. Simple matter to correct, however. Gotta love dovetails.

I've not found many of the blackened finishes applied to modern handguns to be exactly pretty or extremely durable. Doesn't matter who makes the gun. The worst finish I've ever seen was the matte finish on 2nd Generation Glocks--some of them you could rub the black finish off with hard finger pressure.

The P345 has a lot of quirks that I don't particularly like but I've always found mine to be extremely reliable and capable of working no matter what kind of crappy ammunition I shot in it or how dirty I got it.
