Does anybody have any idea where I can get a trigger job done on my Ruger P93? Before somebody responds with "get a different gun, etc.", just know that I have plenty of other guns - this one is special to me, and I'd like to get the work done on it.

I like the gun a lot - it's dead reliable and pretty accurate (even with the heavy trigger). Is there any way I could order the parts and do the work myself, or is it too tough?

My experience with the Ruger's (P85, 90, 944, 95 & 97) is that the hammer springs are WAY heavy. Sometimes they get close to coil binding which causes the pull to stack badly.

Wolff Gunsprings has hammer springs in different weights that are easy to replace and should improve things greatly. On a couple of guns, I machined the plug that preloads the hammer spring to reduce the load without replacing the spring but the Wolff option would probably be the better one.

Of course, if the pull is gritty and has a lot of creep..... well, then you need to do some smoothing of the surfaces involved and, while this is not hard, it IS something that does take some care to do properly.

Perhaps you could start with the hammer spring first and see if you are happy with it before going farther. Good luck Roger. Rob

Hey, thanks a lot guys!

RecoilRob - How hard is it to put in the hammer spring? Is it something I could do without a lot of extra tools, etc.? The trigger pull is not gritty at all, and there's no creep that I can feel either, it's just a really heavy trigger pull.

I went and looked at Mr. Jacobson's website and I think that he carries Wolff springs, so maybe I can get him to put one in for me if it turns out to be too hard for me. (I have no idea - I've never done that before) Thanks very much for the info!
