i recently purchased a ruger p95 factory new that was made last october 2010, while loading and unloading some rounds to test out the mags out i noticed that the mag was leaving 1/4" inch long scratches all over the cases. It is the same with both mags and the rounds were hand fed so the scratches are not from a speed loader. I'm worried about the scratches causing failure to feed issues or effecting the integrity of the round.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Should i be worried.

Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks Zack

Thats no big deal. I get those scratches all the time in all sorts of mags. It's eitherthe bottom edge of the round above it scratching the one below - as you load easy round into the mag - or scratched from the feed lips, or both.

Its a non issue.

After you load all 15 rounds in the P95 mag, slam the back of mag on the palm of your hand and you might see some difference on the brass.

Don't worry

My brother has the same gun; I've noticed it happening with his as well. It's never caused any problems at all. I wouldn't worry about it.

I've owned a P-95 for several years, and I want to share a couple of things with you. When you load the magazine, slap the bottom of the magazine on your palm after every 5th round you load and this will seat the rounds properly in the magazine. One word of caution though, I've noticed that when I carry the P-95 in a IWB holster, it sometimes will have enough pressure against the gun to engage the magazine release on it, partially ejecting the magazine and rendering it unable to fire. Pick your CC holsters very carefully.
