I've heard nothing but good things about the Ruger P95. I'm very tempted to pick one up because of the positive reviews and the low price. But the problem is I have smallish hands (for a guy) and Ive read that the p95 is a rather large framed gun with a somewhat long reach to the trigger. I can't seem to find one in stock at any of the local shops for me to handle so I'd be taking a leap of faith by ordering one sight unseen.

Is the P95 useable for a bit smaller-than-average hands?

When we changed from the P89 to the P95 there were less complaints about the size of the grip. The officers with big didn't complain of it being to small and the officers with smaller hands said it was a better fit for them.

I picked on up a couple weeks ago. I've got short fingers and I have zero problems with it. I'm thinking about an after market grips (talon type thing) since they're not the "stickiest" grips. Otherwise, no complaints!

I have smallish hands and shoot a G-lock 30 (.45acp doublestack) and a P95 pretty good for me. My CZ 75's have a longer trigger pull and are more difficult for me to shoot without really 'bearing down'.
I manage, but I prefer fat grips, possibly from lots of shotgunning/rifles over the years.

"How it fits your hand" is an adage not to be ignored.
