Well I went a bought a Ruger P95 after reviewing all of your discussions on all of the 9 mm's.
My question is, "What is the maximum load and best bullet to use for penetration at 10 yards or less".
My second question, "Does any one have any experience with 30 round mags for this pistol".

Ruger states that their pistols are rated for any and all factory ammunition that meets SAAMI specs. That said, I use either 115gr Remington Golden Sabers or Corbon 115gr +Ps. Either of these rounds will do the trick.

I have no experience with the 30 rounders, but have a couple of 20 rounders that work fine!! All the rest of my magazines are 15 round Ruger factory.

I have 2 30 rounders. I got both from CTD I believe. One worked perfectly, the other caused nothing but problems.

The problem one I had just purchased. The working mag I had purchaes awhile back, but never used. I had previously loaded it, but is was a few months before I took it to the range. I now plan on doing the same with the problem mag.

I have several high cap magazines from several manufactures (Ruger, Triple K, Ramline, and others) and they all work fine in my P95.

Buutch, do youwant more penetration or less? If it's more, I'd go to a 147 grain JHP or a FMJ load. Less would be a 115 +P+ load.

What's the purpose? :)

FWIW, I've had great success with the Speer 124 grain Gold Dots loaded to +P pressues by Georgia Arms. I've used this to finish off several deer and hogs.

I have several 20 round Mec-Gars that work perfectly in my 89 and 95. They extend about one inch below the butt. I also have 17 round Mec-Gars that fit flush and work perfectly.

I don't remember. Probably CDNN and they are probably out. Do a thorough search on the Internet and maybe you will find something. The 17 round Mec-Gars are more useful. I got some in nickel from CJC Enterprises, 972-790-3686, [email protected]. About $40. Uh, oh, I see from Shotgun News that they also have 20 round Mec-Gars for $40, 15 rounders for $35. Get on the stick!
