My understanding is that the Ruger PC4 (.40S&W carbine) was designed for LEO use, to share magazines with the Ruger handguns they were carrying. I bought one because for a time I only had access to indoor ranges, and they would only allow handgun calibers - this gave me the ability to take a "rifle" to the range some times.
So now I have this PC4 lying around, and my brother has an occasional coyote problem (he has domestic pets). He only owns three acres, so he'd never be shooting at over 75 yards - would a PC4 be suitable? What type of ammo would you use in that situation (hollowpoint or ball)?
thanks for the info -
