Has anyone had any direct expereince with the Ruger PC9/PC4? I have been considering getting a PC4 rather than wait for the Beretta Storm in .40.

I definitely prefer the looks of the more traditionally styled Ruger PC4, but I have no idea how good a carbine it is.... the Storm looks a little too "commando" for my liking, but if the Storm is a significantly better carbine than the Ruger, I may be persuaded to get a Storm.

What do ya'll think?

The trigger is heavy. However, the handling is great. Handles like an M1 Carbine, very, very solidly built. Buttstroke someone and it won't break. Controls are well laid out, and Gould & Goodrich makes a twin-mag pouch for the stock like the M1 carbine.

The ghost ring sight model is better. I don't like the fact it only uses Ruger mags, but otherwise, it's a solid gun. If they made one in .45 I'd buy it!

I have a PC9 bought used off of a fellow board member here. I've had absolutely 0 problems with it. No FTF or FTE etc. I have 2 factory 10 rounders that haven't failed yet, 2 15 rounders that haven't failed, and 3 30's that haven't failed yet.
The gun gets dirty (read filthy) when firing, but what gun doesn't. It's rediculously accurate out to say, 100 yards, even with the lowly 9mm. I have the rifle sites model vs. the ghost ring (not peep site, if it were a peep site it would be an entirely different story) and I prefer the rifle sites now having shot both. They are just more rugged I think and easier for precision shooting.
The trigger pull is long, in fact some people i've had shoot it thought something was broken on the rifle because the pull was so long. But hey, it catches at the end and it is actually a good smooth pull once you are used to it.
I've found my little carbine to be both handy and accurate which makes it an awesome general purpose plinker. It'd work in SHTF too I suppose in some sort of CQB instances. Not that anyone on this board takes that stuff into account when buying a gun...
