I saw this in the current CDNN flyer:

RUGER PC-4
40S&W
16” BARREL•MATTE FINISH
STANDARD SIGHTS•1-10RD MAG
BLACK SYNTHETIC CHECKERED STOCK
BRAND NEW•SLING SWIVEL STUDS
ACCEPTS OPTIONAL RUGER RINGS
$369.99

Sounds like a great deal, takes Ruger P91 pistol magazines, but I keep wondering why I see the .40S&W models for sale, new and used, a lot more than the 9mm (very hard to find new).

Something I should know?

Ruger has discontinued the PC9 and PC4:( maybe thats why you have a hard time finding one new. The reason for the 40S&W guns being plentyful is the 40S&W round is popular in law enforcement where these used guns came from. The concept of a rifle in your pistol caliber didn't go over as well in LE circles as Ruger had hoped so bye bye PC series. Seems like a good idea to me so I got one. Good price on a fun little carbine. Mags are plentiful but not exactly as cheap as I wish. :)

It sounds like a good price to me I paid 400.00$ cash for mine. It's not a bad little HD weapon. Doesn't have a whole lot of recoil ( mostly because Ruger overenginered the hell out of them ) It's a bit of a chunk, but it was a good gun to introduce the wife to rifles ( she's kinda commandeered it).

Best of all ,for us, we both already carry .40 S&W pistols so we didn't have to add a new caliber to the collection.

9x19 is also a more popular caliber for general target shooting, because it is a lot cheaper- probably hence why most people who have them don't sell them.

That said, the PC series is very fun to shoot. Also, the Weigand Weaver rail for them is expensive, but is worth every penny if you want to put optics on it.
