I have recently fell in love with the ruger gp100 and I am thinking about purchasing one. However I have heard some real horror stories about ruger's quality control in the past year or so. I was just wondering if anyone else has bought a ruger revolver recently and what they thought about the fit and finish of these guns? I know in past years ruger has been tops when it came to quality control and customer service. Maybe I worry too much but I would like to know that when I spend my hard earned money I'm getting what I pay for. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

I bought two GP100s in the last year; both had problems.

#1 Developed cylinder "wobble," like the cylinder wasn't tight on its axis.

#2 Cylinder scraped on barrel when opening or closing.

Sent both back, 3 weeks later they came back fixed and with a complimentary trigger job. I think I have a combination of bad luck, and I think I look closer than most people. I'm keeping them both. :)

I say buy what you like, and if your Ruger is a lemon, they will fix it. FWIW I've had a couple S&W lemons too; no company is perfect.

I haven't hear anything out of the ordinary about Ruger's QC in the past year. If you like a Ruger buy it, like said above, if there's something wrong with it they will fix it...

ARS1911 ALL of them have a few problems today. Ruger has the best CS of the big boys by far. Buy your revolver you want and enjoy.
