Ruger Redhawk Question

I have tried to answer this question with research but I cannot get a definite answer. Anyone know if the Ruger Redhawk Model: 5004 is a round butt or square butt? I have one on order but it is going to be a while before I pick it up. I am checking out grips for it and do not want to purchase the wrong ones. Thank you for your time.

Yep, square. Look at redhawk model 5050, that's a round butt for comparison. Top pic is square butt, bottom is round butt.

You should wait until you have the gun and know the feel of it. It has a long trigger reach and an action that is not the stuff of dreams, so be sure about that before getting a grip that covers the backstrap. Mine carries the rubber Hogue Bantam. Had some pretty wooden Eagles similar to the stock style, and the gun hurt me. Function is better than form in these more powerful guns.

Bud's Ask the Community page has two replies for round one for square.
