Ruger Rifle Revision

I like it, but I would really like to see if someone can make it actually easily detachable. There has to be a way to have it a detachable magazine modification. I'd like to be able to unload the rifle easily by just removing the magazine and not have to cycle each round through the action or partially disassemble the rifle to get the mag out.

That is one SWEET scout rifle conversion.:D

Makes an Ishapore SMLE MK III 2A scout look clumsy and a Mauser scout rifle look heavy.

Nice!

;)

1) Great job! Ya gotta love innovation . . .

Detachable version now in the works !!!!! This gun is just soo much fun.
Im gonna hand file a new triggerguard and try a couple of different mags.

It's so on now!!!

If you are interested in doing conversions. I would be interested in the Frontier....

Think about it and if you are PM or advertise a price.

That's frickin' awesome! I sure wish someone would make a Hi-Cap mag for the Ruger Deerfield! An automatic with 20-30 rounds of .44 Mag would make an AWESOME HD gun!

Im a gunsmithing student at Trinidad State Junior College so it may take a little while. I have to make a remington model 6 by hand with files.
But I do have access to every machine known to man just about.

I want to do a 5rnd detachable for when Im whacking varmints etc.

and a 10 or 20 when im feeling frisky.

The main thing is the feed lips get cut down so far it wont hold z bullets when its out.

Time to do some battle rifle mag research.

This could turn out to be absolutly awesome!

mikeone, my gunsmith and I discussed the possibility of milling the bolt guide in the receiver of the rifle to clear the feed lips of an uncut magazine. Have a look and see what you think.

EC-10 I've been looking at that also. I don't like the fact I have to hack feed lips.

I just did a cool mod. I cut some cooling ports.

How about a Mini 14 magazine in a Remington 700!

This thread should never have been started in the first place. Nor resurrected this year.

I dunno 'bout the rest of the world, but I'm sorta fed up with snark. At THR, anyway. Tamara's good at it, but few others are...

A Friendly Message from your Staff

OK guys, I went through this thread bit by bit, and I deleted the unnecessary political history that resulted in it's closure. The rifle modifications being done here make the thread beneficial enough for me to have spent the last hour cleaning it up. If this thread once again degenerates into a festival of bashing a deceased businessman, I will personally close it again, and it will stay closed. If it gets bad enough, I will vaporize the whole damned thing. Not one post in that direction. Comprende'? If you see your buddy post low road garbage here, encourage him to remove it himself before I see it.

If I removed your post, it was not the only one. Over 50% were removed. If I redacted your post, it was necessary. If you disagree with those actions, then consider that I did not have to take them at all. I could have left this one closed.

Now enjoy and keep it on the high road.

That is a bitchin' cool mod.

Now if they just made the Frontiers and Compacts in a lefthanded version.

I'd snap up one in 7mm-08 in a heartbeat.

Kudos to you adventurous, experimental types.

:)
