Ruger Security Six Repairs

I have a friend who would sell me his Ruger Security Six (4") for about $150. It works in double action, but not in Single. The hammer does not stay back, and then doesn't drop all the way back down when released. You have to then pull the trigger back to decock. I would like to pick it up, but don't know much about how to fix it. Another friend told me that if I send it in to Ruger, that they will fix it for free. Can anyone verify this for me? If so, I think I may have found a pretty good deal.

If the gun has not been abused or a victim of a kitchen table gunsmith Ruger will repair it without much fuss. I had a Ruger Redhawk that broke called customer service ( 603 865 2442)
was told "X" to repair so I sent pistol with check 2 weeks later pistol returned repaired with a check for "X' repair was done free of charge
Bought a Redhawk in 45 Colt I was going to replace the rear sight with a Millet sight so I removed the rear sight and tried to put in new sight but they won't fit.
Thinking I was at fault went to gunsmith he couldn't get it to fit either so upon further scrutiny the holes were drilled off center so back to Ruger 3 wks later I get my pistol back almost THEY SENT ME A NEW PISTOL note said they got the
sights back on but the gun woouldn't shoot to point so new pistol to me
