hi everyone im quite new to live firearms used to be an airsoft player, i've recently acquired a security-six, glock 23, and ruger 22/45, you could say i kinda
got hooked on live firearms real fast hehe my glock is my personal carry yes i carry it due too security measures being a company owner and holding a ton of cash most of the time, my ruger is for my usual backyard plinking, having a silencer made by the way, as for the ruger i have no idea what to do with it, actually i wanted it to be a little bit chunkier than it already is, is it possible to replace the barrel with a beefier one like the ones on a gp100? or is there a way i could make it look like this: REVOLVER1.gif

this is my security six as of now: (sorry theres a bit of surface rust i havent removed but there arent any gouges or anything)

another question i have, what do you guys suggest on threading the barrel of the ruger 22/45 im not sure how its going to be done though, should i have it threaded then have a thread protector thats flush with the barrel made? or are there other ways of threading a 22/45 that i havent heard of?

The barrel can be replaced and you can make a security six look like a PPC gun but it will cot you twice the price of a GP100.
So sell it and get a GP100 or S&W 686 or enjot it as it is.

gggman, where did you get the vent rib for the Security Six? It makes the revolver look a little pythonesque :) I have a 6" stainless SS that and the rib would certainly make it unique looking....RW

having a silencer made by the way

Since you mentioned that you are very new to real firearms, I just wanted to make sure you realized that silencers/suppressors are NFA restricted items in the USA.

To legally obtain a silencer/suppressor they must first be legal to own in your state (if you are in the U.S.). Assuming that state law allows you to own one, you must then fill out paperwork with the ATF and pay a $200 tax *before* you receive the silencer/suppressor.

An illegal silencer is a felony in the U.S. and the ATF does prosecute as it's usually an easy conviction.

Clark Custom Guns, the builder of the barrel conversion on the S&W in the top photo of the original post, is still in business.

thanks sir to all your answers im from the philippines and most gunsmiths here are crazy enough to fabricate silencers for every caliber possible since there are NO restrictions to owning a suppressor here back in the philippines, that vent rib sir really does look great i wouldn't have to go with the ppc look, problem is are there any other adjustable sights i could attach to my ss since i bought the revolver with the scope attached and missing original rear sights thanks again for the replies, and any additional information as to how to make the ss look beefier than usual, i would greatly appreciate thanks again.

Ah, I was thinking you might not be in the U.S., but since I couldn't tell for sure I thought it best to mention U.S. laws.

Sorry I don't have more info on how to mod your Ruger. There is also a Rugerforum.com and someone there might be able to help.
