Hello.
I just picked up a used excellent condition convertible single six, with .22 long rifle, and .22 wmr mag cylinders. Lockup is good. Pawl locks in right as the hammer is all the way back.
Wanted to check timing, all I have is a .22 cal cleaning rod, so that's what I used. .22 long rifle cylinder is perfect. .22 wmr cylinder the cleaning rod goes through ok it just hits the edge of the cylinder on 3 of the chambers, but it seems to fit in there ok other than that. Is this an issue with the wmr cylinder, should I have a smith check it out? I will be using the .22 lr cylinder 99% of thr time, but would like the option of using the mag cylinder!

Thanks all.

That's not timing, like I said before, that's bore/chamber alignment. Two completely different things and fixes for issues with them are mutually exclusive.

See how it shoots, worry about it if there's a problem.

Thanks craig. Will look up bore/chamber alignment and become familiar with it! Time to check out the revolver checkout thread again!!!
