Thread title says it all. I was looking at buying a single action revolver. I was also thinking of buying a .22 pistol. Budget says I can have one or the other in about, oh, July. So I've decided on a .22 single-action revolver.
The Single-Six is the highest contender right now. We had an Old Model S-S around the house a few years ago that I remember shooting quite a bit. My memory isn't great, but I don't recall it being super-accurate (or maybe my skill wasn't so good). Other than that I thought it was a fun little gun. I think it was the 6.5" barrel model too.
What I'm planning on using this for is as a woods/fun/plinker. I mean, what else DO you do with a .22?
My questions:
How is the accuracy of the convertibles with the .22LR? With the .22 Magnum?
If somebody has the fixed sight model (I'm looking at the 5.5" model, FWIW), is the POA/POI close between the two cylinders? At 15 yards? 20? 25?
How are the trigger pulls on the new models? I remember the old model had a pretty good trigger, but lacked the transfer bar. To this day I still try to load every SA revolver from the half-cock, whether or not it has one!
What are the street prices in your areas? I know it will likely vary, but I would like to be in the ballpark. If I read everything correctly, Ruger lists the fixed-sight, 5.5" convertible for $399.
And any other comments and observations would be appreciated. Thanks all.
