I don't know about you, but my hand does not fix the single six trip. My pinky and part of my ring finger slide off. Yeah, I can palm a basketball..

So anyways, has anyone replaced the grips on this six shooter with with an extra long rip?

I tried checking out hogue's store, but they don't have any photos of their cowboy grips, although some of the nice wood grips look like they are oh, maybe 1/2" longer than stock? If anyone with bear paws has gone this route please let me know how they worked out for you. Its basically the only thing holding me back from buying this .22. Thanks :D

Those grips work better for keeping your fingers around the front of the grip but they just look wrong on a S.A. revolver....when I hold a S.A. I hold with just two fingers and thumb around the grip and one finger on the trigger or near and the pinky finger wraps underneath the bottom of the grip to steady it while re cocking the hammer.
Once you get used to the "cowboy" type grip it feels pretty good and with the .22 it's not like you have to deal with much recoil.

I had a pair of the wood Hogues on my Single Six for a short time. The size kind of overwhelms the revolver and yes I would have to agree they do look odd on the little SA revolver. Add to that I did not shoot any better with them. I ended up going back to the factory grips.

But for a very large hand they would probably work well.

There is a member on Ruger Forum (41 magnum) that makes grips and offers a longer one than stock yet still retains the style.

LTR wow those grips really do overpower that .22

Thanks for the tip BlkHawk73, I will contact that guy, it looks like he does some nice work and is pretty reasonable.
