I'm confused . 3" sp101 in 357 is a common gun, no conversion required.
A 2.25" sp101 in 38 special is a common gun.
Just get the 357, load it with 38s and call it a day, no?

To convert a 38spl to 357 mag? Yeesh, that would depend on the length of the frame. I've heard of revolvers that have different frame lengths between caliber chamberings that are considered to be on the same frame. It's pretty rare to find that nowadays however, they just make obnoxiously long forcing cones to take up some of the gap.

Pretty sure you just need to have the cylinder through-bored. IIRC, this was a common practice with .38 Rugers and even some S&Ws back in the day.
At least some of the .38 Ruger Eurocop contract revolvers were, in fact, exactly the same as their .357 counterparts except for the stamping on the barrel and require no mods at all......

They are listed on Gunbroker ... They don't mention any details of origin .. but they do have unusual grips ...
