John Morse Grips

Recently purchased these John Morse SP101 grips after ending my search for the Trausch TJ101's.
A littly "wiggling" and shoving and the roll pin went in without any major issues. WOW! What natural
pointers, I'm very impressed! After 200 rounds of .38 Spl. +P and 158 grain full load .357's, these grips eased the recoil
and the muzzle came right back on target, consistently allowing all five rounds to be placed in a 3" circle at seven yards.
Concealment in an OWB Hayes holster is very good, as the grip tends to stay close to the body. No printing issues with a loose tee shirt. Inexpensive too, get the grip!

...I e-mailed detailed photos on Monday. Four days later, not a word from Hogue.
My wife's a blonde. She wants to know if you put enough stamps on your e-mail?

Seriously, what are the best grips to buy for that particular gun? Pachmayrs??

I've heard the stock grips just beat people up when magnum ammo is used. But wasn't
that the same problem with the original wood panels used on the Ruger "Six" models?

A bit of stale whine and moldy cheese.

Since my grips went on nicely, given this gap in the fit, I would have pulled the grips off and tried again. I suppose there is the possibility that the stirrup is too long (wrong size), but a grip mold is a grip mold. Short of flash to trim off, how can there cant be much variation or even defect per se?

I look for a grip that fills in behind the trigger guard (like the Hogue does). That's where the originals allow the finger to get beat up and making shooting the gun unpleasant.

I alternated between the factory grips and the Hogue monogrip for several years on my SP101s, never being totally happy with either. And not wanting to spend the bucks for the Eagles without trying them.

I just put a set of Altemonts (ckeckered) on my two, and am very pleased.

My Hogue fit very nicely, by the way.

Yup, wood Hogues are just about perfect for most hands but they will not allow enough clearance for some speedloaders. I still love them on my S&W Model 57.

What about these Pachmayrs? I love wood grips but they're most likely not as comfortable as these butt ugly compact grips. But which holds up better, rubber or wood?

Had a Hogue for years. It fit fine and felt good when shooting, but was ugly and longer than needed for CCW, IMO. I went Badger boot and am pleased. Of course, Badgers aren't 16 bucks.

Which ones don't fit? If the common thin-wall plastic ones do fit (mine do), this is not a deal breaker.
