You all may have seen my recent post about needing some grips for my new SP101. Of more importance is getting a decent trigger job. It is the typical out of box Ruger trigger. Somewhat heavy, but not terribly so single action trigger pull, but truly horrendous DA trigger pull.

I have a Gunsmith here in the Portland, OR area I am considering, but would like recommendations from anyone who has had some Ruger trigger work done either in the Portland area or outside. Looking for the best DA trigger pull I can get while still offering reliable primer detonation.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

I sent mine to Gemini Customs, as have many on this forum. I'm very pleased. SP101 triggers seem to range from fair to terrible and mine was terrible (and before someone chimes in about dry firing, that didn't even begin to make a difference).

Gemini also does a nice job smoothing out all the sharp edges, which is another real problem with the SP101. Now I love it. www.geminicustoms.com

Download the IBOK from rugerforum.net and do it yourself (requires 10 post for the library to become available).

The IBOK has some good tips. About all you can do to a Ruger is deburr and a little polishing. You can buy a spring kit and try some lighter springs. I have done several and had success dropping the spring grate 2lbs, no FTF. This is in RH's SRH's 100's and security sixes.

MK11 I talked for a while with Mark from Gemini. Real nice guy. They seem to have their act together. Some of their custom work looks awesome.

I think I will send my SP101 back to him and let him have a go at it. He's not the cheapest, but for what he offers, his prices appear to be reasonable. Thanks for the tip. I'll let you know how it turns out. :)
