Does anyone know if a Ruger Speed Six (2.75'' barrel) will fit in a Fobus kydex holster made for the Ruger GP100? I've looked everywhere and have yet to find anyone that can say one way or the other. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You really don't want to put the Speed Six in a Fobus holster when there is a tendencey to the holster to break or crack after long periods of carrying.

Fobus holsters have a tendency to break or crack? I've had one for my Ruger P95 for several years, have carried it alot, and haven't had any problems out of it.

The smaller Speed Six will flop around in and likely fall out of any holster made for the larger-framed GP100. It is closer in size to a Smith & Wesson K-frame, e.g., Models 10, 13, 19 and so on.

Ok. Thanks. There is a local gun shop that is willing to order the holster and let me see if it will fit. I just want to make sure I get as close as possible. I will research that a little more. Thanks again!

The Fobus LK-4 holster will carry a 4 inch L-Frame or K-Frame Smith and Wesson revolver because the retention device in the holster clamps onto the trigger guard. The K-Frame doesn't rattle around in the "overlarge" holster. I'd imagine the same would apply to the GP-100/Security Six scenario.
