Which would you choose if you were wanting a new commander sized 1911- Ruger SR1911 Commander or a Springfield Loaded Champion?
Both are commander size, both SS construction, both 45 ACP, Champion has ambi safety Ruger doesn't.
Springfield is used and has been shot but is in excellent condition, Ruger is BNIB never fired, same price for both guns....

Springfield is tried and tested... the name speaks for itself, I have a few other SA 1911's and love them. Ruger is the new kid on the block so to speak and I do not have a lot of knowledge on this one.

Which would retain a higher resale value?

Which would you pick and why?
I'm anxious to hear you guys/gals opinions.

Thanks,

The Colt would maintain the higher resale value.

That said, the Ruger SR1911 or Springfield Loaded are both fine products. To me the only real downside of each is that the Springfield is not US-made, and that the Ruger has a cast frame.

^ I believe the Loaded is Stamped IL, while the frame and slide are imported the rest is built here.

Springer for me. There is a reason custom shops use springers or colts as a base gun..

Cannot really compare resale as the the SR Commander is new and the used market hasnt really been hit with them.

Personally, I'm not one to tout the SR1911. Of three thus far that I've shot, only one as of now has been reliable.

Ive a coworker that has several Springers, and hasn't reported failures.

Oddly, I'm a RIA fan, and the Tactical II, IMO, is a better offering than the SR1911 at a few bills less. They've been making them longer too.

I could be wrong, but I believe most Loadeds carry the "N" serial number prefix (ass opposed to the NM prefix) which means they are fully manufactured and assembled in Brazil. Maybe the Champion is different.
