Ruger 556 and now this, I'm thrilled to see Ruger finally embrace the politically incorrect rifle! Now if they'd make 20 or 30 round magazines for the Mini-30 I'd be totally happy!

Then there's this little beauty for those that prefer the rusky look.

Now will ruger make their own hicap mags for them? Seriously, it is about time they do.

Keep in mind that the SR-22 is really just a 10/22 with some add ons. You should be able to use all those cool 10/22 accessories.

Let me think!

SR/22 = getting to use cheesy toy 10-22 accessories

M&P15/22 = getting to use AR15-M4-M16 accessories

HMMMMMMMM! let me think:rolleyes:

I can't see paying more than $350 tops for the SR22, despite my initial enthusiasm. Sub-$300 would be more reasonable and seems entirely realistic. I can see the appeal of the SR-22 for someone who already owns and likes a regular 10/22.

Price is way to high. My Marlin 60 shoots half inch groups at fifty yards and I've got less than two hundred into it with scope, and bipod. X

I'd rather have a good old remington 552, personally. I don't really see the attraction in making a rimfire tacticool.

I haven't ever bought a whole AR all at once.

I find it strange that people do

Why? I only paid $850 for a Complete Armalite M15 carbine. Wouldn't have saved but maybe $50, and I get a lifetime warranty from a great company.

IDENTICAL TO THE COLT M4 AR-15 CARBINE RIFLE IN EVERY WAY BUT BUILT FROM THE GROUND UP AS A .22LR CHAMBERED RIFLE. THIS IS THE M4 OPS MODEL WITH THE TACTICAL REAR SITE AS WELL AS THE FLAT TOP RECEIVER. VERY HIGH END. COMES WITH ALL YOU SEE HERE AND THE COLT NAME ASSURES LONG LASTING VALUE. THIS RIFLE IS A TRUE INVESTMENT. VERY AFFORDABLE TO SHOOT SO YOU CAN HAVE FUN SHOOTING AGAIN WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK. VERY LIMITED SUPPLIES. COMES WITH ALL YOU SEE HERE NEW IN THE BOX......COLT-M4 OPS.........$559.95

Man, some of you people would whine if they hung you with a new rope.

How many times have we heard, "Ruger sucks because they don't make black rifles."

Now they're building black rifles and you STILL ain't happy. ;)

Would somebody PLEASE tell Ruger that muzzle device LOOKS LIKE CRAP!

It doesn't "distinguish" their product... it DETRACTS from their product.
I'm attracted to it. Not the flash hider but the fact that the barrel is threaded from the factory in 1/2x28, like most .22lr cans :)
Now if they'd just drop the price a few hundred $...
So given the fact that it's got the innards of a $180 rifle, that's a $450 kit.

all ruger is doing is using the nordic stock thats in the CTD catalog and a few parts from the SR556 (stock grip forend)

there are alot of guys that have done these conversions just check rimfire central

personaly i dont like nordics design because if i wanted a 22 AR id buy one that controls like an acctual AR

the tacticool 10/22 is a fun project tho but with ruger doing all the fun stuff for you i find it pointless

besides if i were to do this id go with the evolution stock from RB Precision it only accepts the buttstock form an AR and looks more like its own rifle rather than trying to imitate another design

Regarding conversions, bear in mind that you're going to also have to replace the barrel.

The twist ratio on the rifling of a .556 rifle is totally different than a .22LR. Your .22LR bullets are going to be hitting the paper sideways if they do at all.
