Does anyone have any info on a rumored new carry gun from CZ? If you have any info, this is the place to do it. Thanks!

This may NOT be the gun in question, but there's a new, expensive compact, called the SDP -- from the Custom Shop. I've seen some photos on various sites. Doesn't seem like a dramatically different gun -- just a standard alloy-framed compact with some nice whistles and bells added.

Here's a link: http://www.cz-usa.com/products/view/CZ75CompactSDP/

The features are nice, and having the trigger finely-tuned from the Custom Shop is great, but the price is STIFF (almost $1400).

The Rami may fall into those size categories if you don't care about thickness.

Yeah, the Rami is way too wide.

Again, . . . I want to stress the word "rumor", . . . but someone mentioned it a month or two ago and I don't recall who it was. . . . and I was hoping they would see this thread.

And I hope it isn't the CZ92 because I'm not interested in that calliber. IF that is what was being rumored [as coming to the states], that will be a disappointment.

Updated: Okay, I DID find the thread where I saw the information. It was a vague reference that the initiator "couldn't say more about". But, if it is true, I sometimes wonder why a company wouldn't do pretty extensive market research before they come out with something new. Gun owners/buyers really SHOULD be a step in building a new gun for the market, especially a market as robust as the carry market. And if I was asked by CZ as to what I would like to see?. . . .

A gun based on the 75, but ~ 1/5 of the width shaved off [to get it closer to 1"], DA/SA, in either manural safety or decocker [low profile], some sort of staggered magazine [similar to the Shield], thin grips, at least a 3.5" barrel length, and with night sights available.

If CZ introduces anything better than the P07 Duty I'll do my best to buy one. I've owned many many handguns and the P07 Duty I think is a remarkable achievement in every aspect. Fairly inexpensive too. I have no idea why the boards are not on fire with just how good the CZ75 P07 Duty is. Just my opinion but it's based on actual experience.

IMO, CZ makes some of the BEST pistols out there. I recently picked up a P-09 and it is one of the best pistols I've owned. So I can't help but think that a new carry gun would be just as awesome.

If they DO come out with one, . . . I WILL be buying it, testing it, and carrying it on my side. But it will have to have 9mm as one of the options for caliber size.

I bought this gun and so wanted to love it, and I did like the trigger, the looks, the accuracy, and its feel in the hand. But the cheap poly controls on the left (safety/decocker and slide stop) are ill designed and interfered with my grip. I found I could not get past them and sold the gun. But CZ's on balance are excellent guns.

I'm in the same boat as mes228. I recently purchased the p07 and love it. Its a little bulky up top, but very comfortable to shoot, and I actually like the decocker on the p07 vs my 92. Hit the decocker and you are still ready to fire in DA. Only shot 300 rounds of junk ammo so far, but not 1 hiccup. I have still never handled a rami and would like to see one take the place of my 938. I would like SA/DA capability, but that cz92 doesn't seem to fill the nich.

I was reading something somewhere a while back that claimed CZ was going to do a full spread of sizes based on the P07, going up to a full-size model and down to a sub-compact. The writer said he got this from a CZ rep at a gun show somewhere.

The existence of the P09 seems to partly confirm this, but I've never seen anything else about it, so add salt to taste.

Is the p09 even available over here? Havent seen one either. Also wish the magz from the 75 were compatible. I understand why not, just wish megcar would come out with their version.

just wish mec-gar would come out with their version.

?????? What is this?? They are the same as the factory mags. Who do you think makes them for CZ. I have 2 factory mags that came with the gun and two Mec-
Gar that I purchased separately for my CZ 75 P-01. All of them are the same. (Just Mec-Gar cost me less)

Jim

In the past, magazines made by Mec-Gar for CZ were not identical to the magazines made by Mec-Gar for delivery under the Mec-Gar brand. The Mec-Gar mags often had different follower and sometimes a higher capacity.

The PO7 has had some problems with the poly frame bulging, apparently after the gun gets hot. Manufacture is moving to Brazil where it's being used by the government.
The PO9 is available now, but not many out there yet.--A bigger pistol like the Phantom.
Other than CZC's "existing pistol" mods for carry use, nothing else is being discussed on line.

Jim243. I don't believe that megcar makes magazines for the p07. The p07 mag is about same length as the 75c 14 round magazine, yet it holds 16rds. You can use regular 75 mags in the p07, although a little loose. CZ75 magz will not fit in a p07.

muggia59, the 75 compact and the 75 P-01 (14 rounds) are the same gun but without the rail (I have 2 Mec-Gars for the P-01). The 75 B mags should work in the 07, but that's just a guess.
You could call CZcustonshop and find out.

Has anyone seen a 09, I was under the impression that it is the P-01 but with a interchangeable manual safety and decocker?

Jim

Jim243. I apologise. Didn't explain myself properly. I have both the cz75 compact and the p07. The p07 magazine is wider than the 75 magazine. This allows 16 rds to fit in a magazine that is the same height as the 14 round 75c mag. I checked on the megcar.com site, and they don't have p07 mags listed on their site. I also have both megcar and cz magz for my 75b and 75c. Only difference was about 15 to 20$. The 14, 16, and 19 round magz will all work in my p07, but the p07 mag is to wide to fit in my cz75 guns. To bad. I liked the interchangeability.

I really like my CZ pistols, and would be excited about a single stack, sub compact 9MM from CZ.

Really impressed with my P-01 but like others here would love to see CZ make a smaller single stack 9mm. as well.
