Rumor of a new carry gun from CZ?

I can only HOPE that their new carry gun [if the rumor is true] isn't just "a shorter handled P-07". The issue isn't the length of handle, but the width of the slide. If it is going to be competitive, it WILL NEED to be much thinner than the P-07, else, it will just be another Rami [which is also too fat for most to carry].

As for the P-09, not sure how many are out there, but I managed to pick one up a couple months ago. Excellent pistol! Soft shooting and accurate!

I don't know why so many gun manufacturers fail to understand that width of the gun is a substantial determinant to whether it's a good carry piece. I would posit that one reason the 1911 has proven to be such a long-lived design/family is that it is very slim.

True Dave. I can even conceal my Hi Power fairly well. Its slide is quite thin.

CZ, . . . step up to the plate and make a THIN [~ an inch or slightly less] carry pistol for us. At least 7 +1 rounds.

Even the cz75c........Take half an inch off the barrel, single stack the magazine to 7, make the slide serrations like the p07, make optional decoker or safety, night sights would be nice, could still keep it alloy and I'd probably get rid of my sig938.

I just wanted to get a little exercise swimming against the current.

I really like, my chunky little RAMI.

I have never even had the chance to hold one. I know if I managed to even see one I would buy it, double stack and all. 5 more CZs I still want: sp01, sp01 phantom, p09, cz97 and a rami. Ok, maeby even a p01 and something from czcustomworks.

CZguy, I like them too, . . . but they are just too thick for MY body type. Now, I have fired them before and they are quite nice.

Most CZ products are, actually. I took my P-09 to the range on Sunday and it was a joy to shoot. I shot 10 rounds from my brother's P-01 and IT was awesome as well. CZ just makes good stuff! . . . . . . I just want them to make a bit thinner carry gun for me. ;)

And with the recalls of two popular small carry guns, . . . Shield and XDs, . . . CZ, please make sure it all works correctly before sending them out to the stores!!!

If the rumor ever becomes truth, I hope it's an alloy-framed, RAMI-sized, single stack with decocker, stainless slide, in .380, 9mm or .40S&W, in choice of finishes including all-black and matter silver.

Hoping for an alloy frame too, since some of the polymer framed CZs had issues with bowing. Unless the have that problem figured out by now. But DA/SA for sure!

There was a problem (mostly cosmetic) with the early P-07s, but that has -- as far as I can tell -- been resolved and made right.

I think you can just about bet on the fact that most new guns from most gunmakers will be polymer -- it's just easier to work with, less costly, and generally works as well as steel. The top-line guns will probably remain steel or alloy, but its a new (and some would say, "ugly" fact of life.)

I suspect the P-07 and P-09 are the new CZ direction.

For some reason I cannot remember, these couldn't be imported. Angus at the Custom Shop was talking about making them completely state side.

Not enough points (need at least a score of 75) on the BATFE points chart for import eligibility.

Would love to see them tool up here to build a CZ92, albeit I'd much rather they chamber in at least a 7.65 or 9x17 rather than 6.35. I for one would buy two.
I love my TCP but would love it even more if it was a CZ.

Walt, I would be okay with a thinner P-07 style pistol. The slide will have to be thinner, though. Just too bulky, . . . but yeah, those may very well be the direction of CZ. And my P-09 is quite awesome, so I would be fine with a thinner carry type in that direction. I hope they do it soon, though. I really want to trade out this Sig P938 for whatever they come up with!!

I have three CZ's and I'd be interested in seeing CZ bring out a single stack 75 series pistol. While my XDS9 is on vacation at Springfield, one of my CC pistols is a CZ82, which is a pretty fine little pistol in its own right. I'd really love to see CZ come out a single stack version of the P0-1 and PCR. The CZPO-1 is my all time favorite 9mm pistol.

+1 on the single stack p01 or pcr. I'd sell my Kahr p9 and grab one in an instant.

A new (version) pistol has just shown up.
Compact Shadow Line it is.
No firing pin block, Shadow rear sight, FO front sight, Shadow hammer, thin ambi safeties, thin aluminum grips, 85C trigger, 2 nickel plated 14rnd mags with rubber basepads. $1048.85

I. Want. It.

Ok, actually, what I really want is a CZ P-01 with a manual safety instead of a decocker.
