Rust!!

I put my firearms in sack-ups, and then seal each one in a U-Line VCI poly bag. There's so much Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor material in my gun safe, that I've never worried about the few firearms (stainless) that aren't sealed in the VCI stuff. Also keeps guns from banging into each other when rummaging around in there (way overfilled gun safe). Then to top it off, have a couple of the cheap Remington rechargeable dehumidifiers in there too. Rust.....no worries.

Sometimes guns are sealed in containers or cases where they don't get ventilation. Guns should be periodically cleaned and oiled no matter where they are stored. I have removed rust with fine steel wool and penetrating oil. Once it starts you have to be vigilant to keep it at bay.

There is a marine product called Corrosion X you can find it like a boat place or Academy any I use this on all my firearms to protect them from rust. This really works and have real world first hand experience with it. I love saltwater fishing and one day I found a pair of needle nose pliers on the beach that were rusted shut. I could not open them so when I got home I sprayed them with the Corrosion X and and let it soak a couple of hours and I was able to open them to the and they work like a charm. The company makes one for guns to but I use the one made for marine products instead.
Corrosion X is really good stuff. I found out about in Port Aransas Texas. Will never be without it now.
