My quick release rings are on the way. So i figured i would look at how the sights adjust. When i pushed in the pin on the front. Rusty water came out. I have no idea how it got in. I soaked up what i could with a Q-tip. Then put some WD 40 in it. Now i have it upside down. To drain out.

Strange. Was it definitely water that came out? Who knows how long it's been in there, but knowing that kind of thing would probably bother me until I had to take it apart and be sure it was clean and corrosion free. :)

It's probably such a tight space that the water won't drain out due to surface tension and small clearances.

Assuming the post screws in, and assuming you want it adjusted back to the same point where it is now, you could mark it with a small piece of tape or something, and count the turns until it comes out...

I have no idea how the water if is water. Would have got in. I didn't have it in the rain. My son said maybe it's solvent. That worked it's way through the gas port. But the gas dose not go to the sight pin. I'll take it out tomorrow. I didn't sight it in yet with the sights. Sunday i plan on that. After i get it in. Im thinking about putting some grease around the base of the pin.

Could be some anti seize compound, that's usually a dark brown like rust but if it's dripping out that's gotta be contaminated with water.
I'd check your buffer tube, if it's condensation from humidity you should see it in your buffer tube as well.
If it and the insides of your receiver are dry, it's not humidity.
But yea, no way you'll get blowback from gas port to sight post.
