S&W 14-4

Your revolver looks like it just came out of the box for the first time, super sweet!

It shipped in 1974, but it is what we call Like New in the Box. Obviously very well cared for before I got it. I got it for a steal, but I will refrain from saying how much here, so you will not feel bad. Mine has the standard Magna style grips, that these came with in the 1970s. Yours has the target style hammer with the extended wide spur, and the wide target style trigger. I suppose those grips may be original, but I cannot swear to it. Grips like those with the speed loader cut appeared around 1981. If you look closely at mine you will see the trigger is not wide at the bottom, and the hammer spur is shorter than yours. Typical for a K frame S&W in the early 1970s.

P.S. the paperwork that came in your box shows a flier about S&W ammunition. I have a couple of those fliers that came in a couple of other K frame Smiths. S&W was marketing ammunition at the time, all though it was probably actually manufactured by somebody else.

You can see the same ammunition flier peeking out beneath this Model 19-3 that I bought brand-spanky new in 1975.
