I just handled one today.

I was surprised to read how quickly this gun hit the shelves in other areas of the country. Now, one's trickled out my way. Dealer just got it in and tagged it at $779. It's not 'tight' in the sense of a Performance Center gun, but that's probably a good thing in terms of reliability. I like everything about it except those nasty blued parts! Maybe they're stainless with black oxide, or something?

I got one!

Well fellows,
I bought one SW1911 on Weds. I didnt mean to, it just kind of happened.
Why did I buy it?
1. The fit and finish is very good. Better than SA and COLT.
2. I saw a list of the parts suppliers. Good group of people including: McCorrmick, Wilson, Briley, Les Baer, Novaks.
3. I used to work at the shop that was selling it.
4. You can never have to many 1911s.

As soon as one of my consignment guns, I am going to have the slide coated in some kind of black finish. Two tone is cool.

More to come as find time to shoot more than 50 rounds through it.

Well shucks

I put another 50 through it after work today. WHOA! Nice shooting gun. I havent shot in about a month so it took me two mags to get settled in but nothing out of the 9 ring.
Give me until tuesday and post a nice big long review of the gun.
I did change the recoil spring and mainspring.
The springs that come in the gun are ridiculously heavy.
Both springs were 20lbs. I put a 16lbs recoil and 17 lbs mainspring in. But thats just personaly preferace. To me 16lbs is the right way to go for a recoil spring in a 5 inch 1911 .45.
