S&W 25 Conversion?

I was told by the Smith Custom shop that they were going to produce a number of cylinders in .45ACP to be included with a special run of Mountain Guns in .45 Colt. I don't know if this was ever done or not.

I had my gunsmith, Wizards Custom Guns in Ocala Fl, make me a cylinder for my 6 inch 25-5. He used an old cylinder chambered in .45 Colt. The rear of the cylinder is shaved to accomodate full moon clips.

To date, I have fired about 400 rounds using the .45 ACP cylinder. I find it to be absolutly reliable, and when using it, the 25-5 will hold a three shot group under 2 inches at 25 yards. The cost of the cylinder and the work was right at $100.

Wizard's also did a brushed hard chrome finish, installed tritium sights, round butted the N frame grip, installed a trigger stop, all new springs, and did a complete action job. This old Smith looks darn good with the hand carved Rosewood grips, and that satin finish.

A friend of mine has a M25 that came .45ACP from the factory. I don't know how old, but not too old, judging from the condition.
