S&W 27 N frame parts...Thanks Tom

Im wondering about parts availablilty for the model 27 are there any problems getting them? I posted down the page about having to send back my dan wesson and an exchange may occur. Ive handled a 27 a year ago and really liked the feel of it compared to lighter 6 inch models. My uses would be at the range doing target and PPC shooting. I would really prefer a heavier revolver and think they have such a classic design that really appeals to me.
Plus i live in canada where for some reason they made 4 inch and under prohibited instead of making overall lenght of barrel/frame the factor.
Ive probably got one of the best gunsmiths in the country living within 20 miles from me so getting work done is no problem.

Are more or less all the s&Ws good when it comes to parts availability? are there any to avoid?

Hoping to more or less get mine fixed but if not i would like to know better.lol

I have had a 6" Model 27-2 for over 30 yrs. and have never needed any replacement parts beyond grips. It probably has the best factory double action trigger I have ever seen. It is like the Energizer Bunny, it just keeps going and going. My only concern is that it is long out of production and becoming valuable. I am buying a 627 as a shooter. It has a 5" barrel which I prefer and is stainless which I also prefer.

A model 27, 28, 29, and 25 have one thing in common.... they are all S&W N frame revolvers. Last time I looked S&W is still making N-frames (although some parts maybe MIM) and most internal parts will fit with adjustment. And there are thousands of N frames and parts in inventory at various outlets (such as e-gunparts.com [Numrich Arms]).
