S&w 34

I bought a S&W 34-1 today. It's a good lookin, almost new, in box with the stuff, 1 7/8", nickel, RB cutie. I've had a couple blue 34's in the past, with SB's and "they don't yank my crank". I'm trying to save some dough lately, but this gun said "buy me". I offered $350 and Cabelas was happy with it. A RB 34 nickel seems kinda unusual. Anybody else have one?

I've got a pristine, ANIB 2", factory nickel, pinned barrel S&W model 34-1
with a square butt that I gave $350 for several years ago. It too, looks
UNFIRED but has no box or doc's. I think you will find that the SB model
is a bit harder too find, in this kind'a condition~?

That is a steal for a LNIB Model 34, especially a nickel 2". The 2" models are more scarce than the 4", and nickel is another premium. Nice job! Let's see some pictures!

popeye -- suffice to say that you have made me very, very, VERY jealous. I don't have a 34, but I have a 63 which is arguably my all-time favorite handgun.

A nickel-plated 34 sounds like the cat's meow. I'd love to get one as a companion piece.

Xavier: Very nice revolver. Upon further examination I believe mines's a Bangor Punta era gun (also confirmed by S&N book dating the gun at '81). I've pretty much decided to limit most of my S&W purchases to .22's. I've got all the carry guns I need. This 34 kinda fills the hole generated by my selling my 63 2 in. a couple months ago. The I and J frame small caliber Smiths really have an allure don't they? I bought a really nice 6" H&R 999 yesterday to add to my meager .22 collection, which includes a 4 screw K22 and a pre 18.

Yes, I had a pristine one that I got for $360. But, it wouldn't fire reliably with any ammunition even with the mainspring replaced. I was VERY disappointed.

Phil, I'd have someone take a hard look at the rebounding firing pin and see if that doesn't fix the problem.
