hi yall any info on s&w 38 special ctg serial #575xxx nickel plated has texas 37 on left side of 5 inch barrel 6 shot square butt grip serial#bottom of grip under ejecter rod back of cylnder where bullets are loaded on outside edge thanks for any help

Sounds like a pre-WWII S&W Military & Police, now called the model 10. The barrel stamping "Texas 37" sounds added later, as likely is the finish if it is over that. 5" was a pretty common barrel length until a few decades ago. A picture of each side could help date it more accurately, but it's somewhere between 1921 or so and 1940. Production details are thin in that area, so visually identifiable small features help narrow it down.
