I've only owned one other 380 auto a Browning BDA and really did not like the pistol much. Sold it a few years ago. I've shot several LCP's, a Kahr, and a KelTec 3AT. I found a nice little S&W 380 (sigma 380) on sale at the local toy store. Decent price and gun is good shape so I bought it. I read several mixed reviews on these pistols, but decided to pick it up as a BUG anyway. I shot it for the first time this weekend and it's really a nice shooting pistol. I was a bit shocked how accurate and comfortable the pistol is to shoot. The mag release is a bit odd, but for a BUG it should not be a problem. This pistol is a no frills pistol for sure, but for a pocket gun it seems to be working great. Slightly smaller that my PF9, but a little thicker than the Bodyguard and LCP. Too bad S&W didn't develop these further...

Gave my son my Colt gub style 380. Picked up a Sig 232 in 380 that I like a lot. Have never owned a S&W but bet they are nice shooters. I like the "mini 45s" for the lighter weight and slimmer design. Getting lazier in my old age.

That Smith wasn't made for very long. No offense but it's built only slightly better than many of the Saturday Night Specials that get such a bad rap. I don't think the slide is steel and that's a problem for a .380 unless it's a big ol' Hi-Point. I'm sure others will correct me .

You didn't like the BDA? OMG.

I think you are correct it was made in the late '90s, but S&W will repair or replace it if it has problems. That's one reason I didn't mind picking it up. As for the BDA, it was a ok gun, but it was not too fun to shoot. Just never really liked it.
