Hey everyone,
I noticed the ejector rod on my SW 500 10" barrel hunter has a 1/32" runout. Does anyone know how much runout is too much or if this slight bent on the ejector rod can cause any problems on the 500? Thank!
Question... has anyone "flipped' the cylinder shut with a flick of the wrist (like they show being done on TV)? If so... that's probably how it got bent.
Acutally one spent casing got crooked during extraction and got stuck at the extractor star. I had to force the ejector star back in to straighten the casing. That's how it got bent
Just an update on the ejector rod. I called S&W today. The rep told me that a bent ejector rod has no affect on model 500's performance due to the way the cylinder is locked by the yoke to frame and the ball detent. I guess I'll be taking the gun to the range to see if it still shoots the same
