S & w 60 dob

I have a Smith and Wesson model 60 serial no. BDD0xxx and would like to know it's date of birth. I bought it years ago for my son's first revolver.

A call to S&W will get you the date it shipped from the factory. Sn would be from 89 or so. That does not necessarily mean it shipped then.
