S&W 629 Classic DX

I went back to that shop today. Turns out I remembered the price incorrectly. He's got $480 on it. The tag also mentioned "with box" so I asked to see that and he's got both sets of grips and all the extra sights. This thing is getting hard to resist.

Question. As an exclusively ruger shooter I've never had to worry about this, but where is the "too hot for Smith, okay for Ruger" line in the .44 magnum? Are there going to be factory rounds and load data in manuals that's "too hot" for the smith?

That's a much better price. I wouldn't wait. The DX should be able to handle about anything you put in it.

The Smith can handle all factory fodder, but hold down the amount of the heavy 300 grainers put out by the specialty companies. A steady diet of those will loosen it up in time.
