Does anyone have any info about these models (Smith 64 or 67)? Old verses new? I saw something about pinned. What is the difference?

The 64 is a fixed sight 38. Basically a stainless Model 10. No frills, reliable, simple gun. The 67 has adjustable rear sight. It is basically a stainless Model 15. Just as reliable and simple as the 10/64 but with the benefit of target sights.

"Pinned" means the bbl is pinned in place where it joins the frame just forward of the cylinder window. Smith discontinued this practice in the early 80s. They are crush fitted now.

Even tho' the barrel pins are eliminated, the barrels are threaded and screwed into the frame, and torqued to (hopefully) align the front sight.

There are a few differences, other than the aforementioned rear sights, between the M64 and M67. The M67 comes with serrated tangs versus the smooth tangs of the M64. The M67 was available with a red plastic insert in the front ramp sight versus the plain blade of most M64's. Most M67's, being Combat Masterpieces, come with an adjustable trigger stop that improves the feel of the action.
