I've run across a 66-5 2 1/2" that looks to never have been fired more than a few times. This is a S&W custom job, I think he said a Petersen job? 1 of 101 manufacturered. It has a chamfered cylinder. The inside of the cylinder is also different where it tapers down. Something he said about being micro groved I think. It locks up as tight as is possible, like zero in any direction. The barrel looks rather different internally, like it has a match barrel? Gap is .0354". Grips are wood and were on it when he bought it, really nice looking and feeling grips.
The paper work checked out and it is deffinitely 1 of 101, and is considered to have a collector value of around $2200. He said he bought it for $1575 and according to his paper work everything is consistent. He is asking $1450 and isn't willing to budge on that. What do you guys think.
I already have two 66's one 66-2 and another 66-5, both 2 1/2", or what ever the snub length is. But those I picked up for $300 66-2 in the 1980's, and the other 66-5 was $450 about 5 years ago.

I can't post pics, as I don't have the means to do that.
