I saw a S&W 686-6 7rd stainless at a local pawn shop for 399.00. Is this a good deal and is anything I might want to know? Thanks for any help.
I'd offer $300. The 686-6 is one of the least desireable engineering changes, and does not hold its resale value.
My local shop had one sit for over a year, and let it go at last years local show for less than $300.
What is undesirable about the -6 change????
$399 is a great price for any version of a 686 if its in good mechanical and cosmetic repair.
Master Blaster - The frame mounted firing pin, the lock and MIM hammer and trigger, make the 686-6 less desireable. The 686-4 being the pinnacle of 686 production, in the opinion of many "traditionalists".
