S&W 686 Barrel lenght perference

I've owned magnum revolvers in 2", 2.5", 3", 4",5" 6" and 6.5" versions. Currently down to one with a 3" barrel and two with 4" barrels. I wouldn't go below 4" anymore with any of them and really like 5". Wish that option were more common. If you want something to conceal there are simply many, many better choices than even the K frames. It isn't just about accuracy. Below 4" and velocity is really reduced while blast is magnified.
 
If I have to pack a 3 inch 686 then, considering the cost of such a gun, I'll just pack my GP100 'Canadian' .357.
