I think I got a good deal on a used 3rd gen. S&W today. A local pawn shop had a 6904, with 3 mags, on the shelf. I really liked the weight and balance. They had it priced at $349, but it's been sitting there awhile. I got it for $300, +tax.
I can't wait to get out to the range with it. It feels really good in my hands.
Any 6904/6906 owners want to pop in with their impressions? Thanks.

I've had nothing but good experiences with S&W Third-gens, at least as far as reliability goes. I had one similar to yours, a 6946. I wasn't thrilled with the DAO trigger, but it was 100% reliable.

I have 11 S&W 3rd Gen pieces...all but the Shorty Forty is DAO. While I truly like them, I don't shoot them all that much, yet I can't bring myself to sell them.

You have a fine handgun...treat it well and it will retun the favor...

You have one of the best carrying concealed self-defense pistol ever made. Smith Third Generation pistols have a well-deserved reputation for extreme reliability.

Thanks guys. I have some time off and was hoping to get out with it, but now it looks like rain. I guess I'll have to wait.

Nice find. I got my 6906 with two mags for $400, and I thought it was a pretty good deal -- looks like you scored a good one. Enjoy shooting it!

My 6906 was $425 with 2 10-round mags, but they're fairly rare around here. You got a great deal on a great gun!

I traded for my 6904 about two weeks ago from a local pawn shop and they had it marked for $400 with one mag so you scored great.

Buy it,seems like good deal IMHO.As stated the 3rd generation S&W are very dependable pistols.I have a few 3913,3914 TSW,5906 and a CS9 chief special.

I got it to the range today and it shot great. It's not a long range gun, but at 7-10 yds, I did fine. With more practice I'm sure my longer range skills would improve. All 3 mags worked perfectly, I was glad about that. It's a fine gun, as I expected it would be.
Thanks for the comments.
