I have a Chief's Special and a OWB holster. I'd like to get a grip that's a little bigger than the factory wood. I've been looking at the Uncle Mike'S Boots. Are they too sticky to wear under an untucked shirt? I've read here that cloth can ride up on rubber grips and cause problems with concealment. I really don't want to spend a lot on a wood grip that may get ruined by sweat and such. Another option I've considered is the Sile boot grip, #711, that CDNN has listed for $5. They are just plain ugly though.

TIA

Believe they are the same grips that came on my 442. As I recall they never were too sticky. Mine goes into a pistol pocket and then into a pants pocket, and currently is about the same texture as a set of checkered woods with wear on them. In other words, no appreciable drag or grab to them. OTOH I think Pachys and particularly Ruger GP-100 rubber grips remain too sticky for me.

As to the durability of wood grips for ccw, I have carried them since 1972 with no problems at all. Most of mine are finished with Tru-Oil which stands up very well. If the finish wears a bit thin I just knock off the nicks and scratches with fine steel wool and apply a couple more coats. I fully expect them to outlast me by a considerable margin.
